Tehran, March 6, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari said the ministry stresses tapping capacities of non-governmental organizations as public diplomacy entails using the role of people in the foreign relations arena.
Speaking to the heads of friendship associations with foreign countries here on Saturday, he said that role of NGOs and friendship associations in Iran is under revision and development.'They play a significant role in deepening of cooperation among nations,' said Ansari who also head Foreign Ministry's Center for Public and Media Diplomacy.
The spokesman said that friendship associations enjoy a considerable capacity to secure the country's national interests.
Participants discussed enhanced role of friendship associations to increase Iran's cooperation with the world in the post-sanctions era.
